Plain English version: Dura is a marketplace that connects you with venues. When you book through us, your contract for the night itself is with the venue, not with Dura. We promise certain things on top of that, and the most important one is at the bottom of this page. Read those bits at least.
Who we are
Dura Events Ltd is a company registered in England. In these terms "Dura", "we", "us" and "our" mean Dura Events Ltd. Contact us any time at durainc19@gmail.com.
What Dura is
Dura is a marketplace. We help you find venues in London for parties and gatherings. We don't own the venues. The venues set their own prices, rules, opening hours and cancellation policies. When you book a venue through Dura, you're entering a contract with that venue, and Dura is acting as a booking agent.
How booking works
- You make an enquiry through this website.
- We confirm receipt and reply with availability and a quote the same business day (Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm).
- If you accept the quote, we send a secure payment link for the venue's deposit.
- Once the deposit is paid, the venue holds your date. The remaining balance is paid directly to the venue, usually a week or two before the event.
Commission
Dura earns a commission from the venue when a booking happens. The standard rate is 10%, with reduced rates for Founding Venues and high-volume venues. The commission is taken from the venue's share and never added to the customer's bill. As a customer, you pay the same price you'd pay if you booked directly with the venue.
Cancellation and refunds
Each venue sets its own cancellation policy. That policy is shown clearly on every venue's page, and you'll be asked to confirm you've read it before paying any deposit. Read it before you pay.
Our promise. If a venue cancels your booking, for any reason, at any time, we'll help you find a replacement venue before your date wherever we can. This is on top of any rights you have by law.
What we don't do
- We don't run the events. What happens at the venue on the night is between you and the venue.
- We can't guarantee specific decorations, music, food, weather, or anything else not promised in writing by the venue.
- We don't accept liability for any loss caused by the venue's actions, except where required by law.
Your responsibilities
- Give us accurate information when you enquire and book.
- Read the venue's cancellation policy before paying a deposit.
- Treat the venue and its staff respectfully on the night.
- Pay the venue any remaining balance on time.
Limits of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Dura's total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of Dura is limited to the amount you've paid us in commission for the booking in question. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that can't be limited under English law, including liability for personal injury or fraud.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the latest version. Any changes apply to bookings made after the update date.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
